B.M. Choral Music Education - University of Michigan M.M. Choral Conducting - Yale University Sarah Paquet leads the curricular choral program at Tappan, which serves over 150 students in grades 6th through 8th. Prior to joining the Ann Arbor Public Schools, Ms. Paquet was the assistant director of choral activities at Smith College, where she led choral ensembles, taught musicianship and music appreciation, and maintained an undergraduate voice studio. She also served as Director of the Pioneer Valley Symphony Chorus and Chamber Choir. Her additional past appointments include director roles at Avon Old Farms School (Avon, CT), University of Detroit Jesuit High School (Detroit, MI) and St. Mary Student Parish (Ann Arbor, MI). While completing her coursework at Yale, Sarah served as the assistant conductor of the Yale Glee Club, directing the ensemble in tour performances throughout the country. She was also an assistant conductor for the Yale Camerata and co-directed the Marquand Chapel Choir of Yale Divinity School. A mezzo-soprano, Sarah has performed, toured and recorded with ensembles such as Audivi, Beyond, University of Michigan Chamber Choir, and Yale Schola Cantorum. The 2023-2024 school year is Sarah's tenth year of teaching. |
